A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs. For example, if a spell has an X in its mana cost, the value of X is determined when the spell is cast. The converted mana cost of an object is a number equal to the total amount of mana in its mana cost, regardless of color.
