DeMar DeRozan's 33-Point Performance Leads Spurs to Victory
DeMar DeRozan led the San Antonio Spurs to a 100-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. DeRozan finished with 33 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.
DeRozan was efficient from the field, shooting 11-of-18. He also hit 9-of-10 free throws. DeRozan's performance was a huge boost for the Spurs, who have been struggling lately. The Spurs have now won two of their last three games.
DeRozan was not the only Spur to have a good game. Keldon Johnson added 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Jakob Poeltl had 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Spurs also got a boost from their bench, as Bryn Forbes scored 15 points and Lonnie Walker IV added 12 points.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, Doncic was not able to get enough help from his teammates. Kristaps Porzingis was held to just 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting. Tim Hardaway Jr. was also held to just 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting.
The Spurs will look to continue their winning ways when they host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. The Mavericks will look to bounce back when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
