Did You Catch This Hint At The Strangers Real Name In The Lord Of The Rings The Rings Of Power Season 2

Did You Catch This Hint at the Stranger's Real Name in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Season 2?

Hint at the Stranger's Real Name

A new featurette for 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Season 2 offered a tantalizing clue to the Stranger's (Daniel Weyman) true identity.

In a brief shot, the Stranger is seen holding a map with the constellation of Orion marked. This is the same constellation that is associated with the wizard Gandalf in J.R.R. Tolkien's original 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy.

This could be a strong indication that the Stranger is actually Gandalf, who has traveled back in time to Middle-earth to help fight the forces of evil.

Other Clues

There are other clues that have hinted at the Stranger's true identity.

  • He has shown a knowledge of Middle-earth's history and culture.
  • He has the ability to use magic.
  • He has a close relationship with Nori Brandyfoot (Markella Kavenagh), a young Harfoot who reminds him of his old friend Frodo Baggins.

All of these clues seem to suggest that the Stranger is not who he seems to be. It is very likely that he is actually Gandalf, who has come to Middle-earth to help fight the forces of evil.

What Does This Mean for Season 2?

The Stranger's true identity is sure to have a major impact on Season 2 of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.

  • Gandalf is one of the most powerful and important characters in Middle-earth.
  • His arrival will likely give the forces of good a much-needed boost.
  • It will also set up some interesting conflicts between Gandalf and the other characters in the series.

Season 2 of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in September 2023. Fans of the series will no doubt be eagerly awaiting to see how the Stranger's true identity unfolds.
