Western Bulldogs: Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, the Western Bulldogs have a rich history in the AFL.
Brisbane Lions: Formerly known as the Brisbane Bears, the Lions have won three AFL premierships, including back-to-back flags in 2001 and 2002.

The AFL has also released the fixture for Round 16, which will see the Brisbane Lions take on the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba on Saturday, August 2, 2024, at 3:20 PM.
